WHAT IS A
HENNA NIGHT?

Wedding celebrations in India are incomplete without mehendi or henna. This age-old form of art is traditionally one of sixteen types of decorative ornaments worn by an Indian bride.

Mehendi is made from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant, and has a number of healing properties. Mehendi is applied wet, and dries within a couple of hours. Ideally the art is kept on overnight and washed off in the morning. However you can get away with washing off in a couple of hours for light colour. Just remember - the longer you leave it on, the darker the colour will show on your skin. On this night the bride will be adorned with henna. While guests can enjoy dinner and some dancing.

WHAT TO WEAR

Dress Code is semi-dressy. Traditionally, shades of green are worn to a henna night however its is not a necessary.  We encourage everyone to get involved - there will also be henna artists for guests if you’d like to have a go!  Remember to wear shorter sleeves.
