WHAT IS A
HALDI Ceremony?

The haldi ceremony is a pre-wedding ritual in Indian culture. This event involves applying paste made from turmeric and sandalwood on the bride and groom's face, hands and feet. This event symbolically represents a type of purification before the wedding day. The color yellow signifies prosperity in Indian culture, so in essence this event is about wishing the bride and groom good luck.

WHAT TO WEAR

Traditionally, at a haldi ceremony, guests wear shades of yellow or white. The colour theme is not a necessity however we recommend you take into account comfort. The ceremony is a lot of fun and everyone is encouraged to get involved. Haldi tends to stain - so keep that in mind when picking clothes. Also please wear something light as the weather will be quite hot. Which works well in this occasion, as the ceremony will most likely end in one big water fight.
